Meanwhile, I had no idea what was going on back at Jeremy's pack. Hayden and I were sitting at the bridal shop, feeling dizzy after looking at the endless rows of gowns.
After trying more than a dozen gowns, I collapsed onto the chair and wrapped my hand around his waist. "We've already tried on so many of them. Yet, you didn't like a single one of them. Are you playing me for a fool?"
Hayden caressed my hair. "Shirley, I still feel like I'm dreaming. I can barely believe you're my mate."
I looked at him in confusion. "Why so? We had already held the ceremony before the Moon Goddess and received her approval. Do you feel insecure?"
Hayden pressed a kiss to my forehead and shook his head. "It's not that I doubt you, but I'm just not confident enough. I'm afraid I'm not worthy of you, or that you'll find me lacking."
I stared at him and found that his gaze was full of reverence and love. My heartbeat quickened, and my face felt warm.
