Chapter 147
Claire's POV
After our heated argument, I stared at the phone with that two-word apology on it. Those weren't words I ever expected to see from the mighty Alpha of Black Moon pack.
"You should say something," Stella whispered in my mind.
Before I could decide whether to accept his apology, Lucius moved away from the window and headed for the door without another word. My heart sank a little. Was he leaving?
I glanced around the hospital room, trying to appear unaffected by his departure. The silence felt oddly heavy once he was gone. My initial relief at not having to deal with the awkwardness quickly morphed into unexpected disappointment.
My stomach growled loudly, reminding me I hadn't eaten since yesterday. I decided to focus on breakfast instead of my conflicted feelings about Lucius.
