Claire's POV I woke up reaching for Lucius, only to find the space beside me empty and cold. He must have left early for work. A note on the nightstand caught my eye, "Had an emergency meeting. Will call you later. Check your email." I stretched, my body still pleasantly sore from our kisses last night. The memory brought a smile to my face. It felt surreal that after everything we'd been through, Lucius and I were finally getting back together. "Good morning, sunshine," Stella said in my mind. "Someone's cheerful today," I replied silently, getting out of bed. After a quick shower, I remembered that the CPA exam was coming up soon. I dug through my closet and pulled out my study materials, which had been collecting dust since I'd moved to Crescent City. "Less than a month to go," I groaned, flipping through the pages. The material looked like hieroglyphics. How was I supposed to cram all this into my brain in such a short time? But Lucius said he would help me. I could only hope this
