After I sent Jack packing, I turned around and looked at Eric somewhat apologetically. "I'm sorry. You couldn't get a proper rest because of me."
Eric had been holding my hand since earlier. He tightened his grip when he heard what I said. He looked at me and shook his head solemnly. "It's fine. You don't have to apologize to me, ever."
A flutter stirred in my heart, and I gently withdrew my hand. "I still haven't bought food. I have to go now."
