I looked up, frowning at the man who had the audacity to spew nonsense. I was suppressing the anger rising in my chest. No matter what, today was an important day for me and Eric. Even if it wasn't our wedding anniversary, it was still the day we officially became allies. Eric seemed to share the same thought I had. Ignoring the ranting man, he simply took my hand and continued walking toward the exit. However, our silence only emboldened the man. Ignoring his fiancée's attempts to hold him back, he stepped forward and blocked our way. "What's this? No apology? Do you think you run the city clerk's office or something?" Eric shielded me behind him and said coldly, "You're the one who bumped into us. There are surveillance cameras over there. You can check for yourself." The guy snorted. "Check the cameras? By the time we do that, you'd be long gone. I don't care. You ruined our lucky wedding hour. You'll have to compensate us with at least three grand!" I stared at him indifferent
