Chapter 189 Evelyn's Disappointment
Late at night, the study reeked of alcohol. Hansel slouched on the sofa, holding an empty bottle in his hand, with his tie twisted crookedly.
Several more empty bottles lay scattered across the floor. His eyes were bloodshot, and his handsome face was pale and wan.
The door creaked open. Evelyn stepped in cautiously, holding a steaming bowl of hangover soup. She placed it gently on the coffee table and knelt down beside him.
"Hansel, don't drink anymore. It's bad for you. I made you some soup—it'll help you feel better if you take a little," she gently said.
Hansel lifted his head through the haze of drunkenness. The woman in front of him looked blurry. For a moment, he thought he was seeing Nancy's cold, stubborn face that he had longed for.
Suddenly, he reached out and grabbed Evelyn's wrist with such force that she winced in pain.
"Nancy…"
The gentle warmth on Evelyn's face froze instantly.
"It's my fault. I shouldn't have divorced you. I regret it…" Hansel's hoarse voice
