Chapter 693
Robert’s gaze never left Eleanor.
His eyes were like a deep, swirling abyss—dark, unfathomable, impossible to read. Even without turning her head, Eleanor could feel his stare pressing down on her, heavy and unrelenting. Still, she pretended not to notice, forcing herself to remain calm.
“I… need to go out for a while,” she said softly. The words slipped out before she could reconsider, her fingers tightening instinctively at her side.
“Mommy, where are you going?”
Leo’s eyes widened, his voice carrying a hint of panic.
Eleanor paused. She didn’t answer him immediately. Instead, her gaze drifted—almost against her will—toward the man seated beside her.
These words weren’t meant for her son.
They were meant for Robert.
She was heading to the Whales family estate. Whether she said it or not, Robert would find out sooner or later. Hiding it would only make things worse.
“Alright,” Robert replied after a moment, his voice calm. He inclined his head slightly.
“I’ll have someone drive you.”
