ALEJANDRO’s pov
It was colder than I remembered in the city. Every corner seemed poised to engulf me, and the shadows moved like ghosts. I wasn't paying a visit. I had returned to exact revenge.
I moved stealthily through the streets, keeping a close eye out for anyone who might pose a threat. There might be familiar faces, former companions, or current adversaries. I no longer knew whom to believe.
I had to locate Camila. The last I heard, she was possibly more dangerous than I had initially believed and was entangled with Luis. And I would lose her forever if the cartel got her first.
My thoughts were racing as I waited outside a dilapidated warehouse.
Why did I return by myself?
Why didn't I take additional backup?
Then I heard footsteps behind me. I quickly turned and reached for my gun. But it was just an old ally, Javier. Or so I believed.
