My eyes managed to flutter open. I took in the surroundings that I was laying in. The porcelain… the marble floor. Lila.
No, no, no. I wasn’t supposed to be there. Not today, not any other day. I got up, and the sharp pain in my chest hit me immediately. Everything that happened at the hospital was a blur, but I remembered being happy that Lily was there. There was no way that she was even going to allow Lila to take me home. But I guessed I was wrong.
I heard footsteps, and I was more than thankful when Olivia came from the other room. The hate that she had on her face whenever she saw me was no longer there. Either I had made her suddenly like me overnight, or there was another Olivia standing in front of me.
“Lucien,” I heard her say in a soft voice that made me frown. It didn’t sound like her, but it was her. She turned back, obviously about to call for Lila.
“You don’t have to call her,” I told her, making her stop. She narrowed her eyes at me, obviously
