Just as he was stewing in his anger, his eyes caught something- a dark red stain on the white bedsheet.
He reached out and touched it. It was still damp.
A sudden wave of panic hit him.
Was it Ariella's blood? Or maybe someone else's from the fight? No way-it couldn't be hers. Sure, he was rough, but not to the point of making her bleed, right?
"Nora!" he called sharply.
Nora hurried over. "Yes, sir? What do you need?"
"What's with the blood on the bed? Did they fight here? Did anyone get hurt?" His brows were furrowed tightly.
"No, sir. After that man from the Murdoch family carried the young lady out, we were forced into this room. No one else has touched this bed since she left."
"Then... how did she bleed?" He looked confused, as something heavy pressed against his chest.
"Maybe she's on her period?" Nora said in a low voice.
"Get out. And close the door behind you."
