Thalia turned and smiled at Tyren, who encouraged her to keep going. "Don't worry. Relax and bid boldly."
Thalia lowered her voice. "I sold this for three million dollars, but the bidding has already reached this amount. It's a little too much."
Tyren stroked her hair and gave her a fond, indulgent look. "It's alright. No matter how high the price is, we must get this bangle."
No one else was bidding except for Thalia and Kiera.
The auctioneer prompted them, "Is there a bid higher than three million?"
"3.5 million."
Tyren took Thalia's hand and raised the sign with her.
Alden did not bother to hide his scorn as he laughed. "Are you trying to deliberately raise the price again? Do you think I'll fall for it twice?"
He had thought that the first item he'd bid for had looked like it was in fairly good condition, but Jaron had made it seem as if he'd been a fool.
The bangle they were bidding for did not look special at all. It was even less impressive than the phoenix hairpin.
