Giselle took a seat across from Gavin and asked in a cold, distant tone, "Now that I'm back, when will Rose's crisis be resolved?"
"I keep my word. The bar shall resume its usual operations today," he flatly replied.
"Good." With that, she got up to leave.
Watching her walk away like a soulless zombie, Gavin's mood suddenly soured. "Who are you putting on this act for? Is this how you'll behave in front of Poppy and make her think you've suffered some unbearable grievance?"
Giselle halted in her tracks. A cold laugh slipped out of her lips before she snapped back, "You know better than anyone why I came back. How do you expect me to smile at a man who forced me to return?
"I'm sorry, but I can't do that. If you find my presence so offensive, you're more than welcome to throw me out."
