Escapade
“Let’s go dancing.”
“What? You mean now?”
“Yes, now. It’s the perfect time. I saw a nice club on our way here. We can even walk there.”
Scarlett stared into Charlotte’s eyes, trying to see if she was joking but her friend was actually very serious. It was eleven p.m. and the streets of Corso Venezia sure looked animated but it sounded a little too much to go dancing on their first night in the country.
“I don’t know, Charlotte...I haven’t brought any appropriate clothes anyway...”
“That’s fine, I’ll lend you something. Come on, Scar. You’ve got to live a little, all right? You’re twenty-five. You should be out dancing every night. This is not New York. No one will recognize you and take pictures of you, if that’s what you’re afraid of.”
“I just don’t think that Ryke will agree to this.”
“...He doesn’t have to know.”
Charlotte wiggled her eyebrows and laughed at her own words. This was all like a game to her. Sneaking out of the hotel room without letting Ryke know sounded adventurous.
