CHAPTER NINETY THREE – A DEAD FATHER
Kayla stepped into the bustling lobby of Storm Enterprises headquarters, her heels clicking against the polished marble floor. She adjusted the strap of her tote bag and scanned the area, searching for any potential issues that required her attention as the event manager.
"Good morning, Ms. Danvers," Margaret, Lance's longtime assistant, greeted with a warm smile. "Mr. Storm is already in his office."
Kayla returned the gesture. "Thanks, Margaret. Any appointments or—"
A commotion near the main entrance interrupted her. A man in rumpled clothing burst through the revolving doors, his eyes wild and unkempt hair disheveled. Security guards quickly approached him, but he shrugged them off.
"I need to see Lance Storm!" the man bellowed, his voice echoing across the cavernous lobby. "He can't hide from me any longer!"
