LUCIAN'S POV
killing is a necessity sometimes, it is something that must happen for life to continue to go the way it should. For everything to work out like it should, for destinies to be fulfilled and for prophecies to become realities.
Sometimes people have to lay down their lives, that is why the word “hero” is a word. Sometimes these sacrificial lambs (or heros like they enjoy being called) take their predestined fate head on and dive head first into a sea filled with sharks, other times their deaths have to be planned out for them.
Some heroes are just too scared to dive into their destiny, they need to be motivated. Heroes are meant to die and if they don't do it willingly like they were created to, the gods of the Universe always send someone to take their precious life from them.
It might seem a little harsh what I am about to do but it is for the best. I mean Cassian is always 

LUCIAN'S POV
She cannot be dead! This is not how it is supposed to go! The panic flooded through me. The reflection of myself in the mirror opposite from me conveys the turmoil that was going through my mind perfectly. The image of my reflection on the full length mirror with my hands spread at both of my sides, wide open, my eyes opened wide like I had just seen a ghost, my face set in a shocked look. I looked at myself, I swallowed, hoping to somehow get the panic away from my throat and away from me. It did not go anywhere, the panic remained.
The fear that I might lose her terrorized me, I could not even understand why. I should not care about her! I should only care about my plan and how her death is going to ruin that. I should not be as invested in this…in her as I am. Normally, I would be spending this time trying to devise a new plan but for some reason I am stuck thinking of wa


LUCIAN'S POV 
The look on the doctor’s face made me realize that I had misspoken, that I had said what I should have, that I had mistakenly said what was on my mind, instead of pretending that I care for Cassian.
“I…I'll speak to the Alpha instead,” he said and then attempted to walk away, to spill a well- kept secret to the one person that it should be kept from. I stopped him in his tracks, with my hand pressed against his neck, I spoke.
“You will do no such thing,” I said through gritted teeth. I pressed harder, he seemed to be struggling to breathe but I did not mind. I am not going to let a little hospital thwart stop me from fulfilling my destiny. I continued to hold on to his neck, this pinned him to the wall. 
“Pl…please, don't kill me,” he cried.
“I promise I will not tell anyone,” he lied. I know a Liar when I see one, I can notice their pathetic patterns from a mile away. I know this one is not a deliberate Liar but a Liar nonetheless, he is someone that can easily be guilt tripped or tortured to tell the truth. I don't trust him not to spill his guts, I mean all alpha Caden has to do to get him to confess is just pierce his skin with a bullet or cut him open with a blade. No creature is to be trusted but werewolves are the least trust worthy, they are no more than dogs who are compelled to always succumb to the command of their owner.
He swears up and down that he would not tell the Alpha but even his discretion is not in his own control.
I knew that I had to do the one thing that I had promised myself never to do again. I guess this is an exception, a necessity even. I have to make sure that this stays between us forever.
I placed my fingers on the greatest life force of his body; his jugular. I breathed in and out as I tried to remember the spell to bring him down. I recalled Talia saying it once when we left the palace to the outlands, it was the spell she used to subdue one of the maids who had seen us leave. The memory came in slowly, I closed my eyes. I can still hear Talia's voice. She would stand behind me as I stood in the middle of the wood, trying to get a stone to levitate from the ground. She always made it seem so easy, it was of course easy for her, she was a full blooded witch after all.
Talia was the daughter of Ms. Camille, my nanny, the one who had been bold enough to show me the truth about who I am. Talia and I met on the day I first visited the outlands, the day of my graduation when everything that had been hidden in the shadows were revealed. The day I met Talia was the best day of my life. I can still remember how much her ginger colored her shined against the golden hue of the sun. She had a childish way about her, I guess that makes sense since we were both children when we met. 
We were both still children the last time I saw her. The last  memory I have of her is she being surrounded by a pack of rogue wolves, their claws tearing at her while some of them pinned me down, making me unable to do anything.
I shook my head as if that would chase the horrible memory away. I instead focused on getting the task at hand done.
“Hasika est migro,” I  said, focusing heavily on his pulsating vein. Nothing happened, I tried again, still nothing. The frustration crawled in, I growled in anger.
“P…please don't hurt me,” he begged.
“Help!” He yelled. 
“He…” he attempted to yell again, I knew I had to stop him, the spell was not working so I gutted him with my claws, this shut him up. His body landed with a loud thud to the ground.
I wiped the blood off my hands, adjusted my tux and kept it moving. There will be no stain to my conscience, that death was necessary. I did nothing wrong, I am only trying to fulfill the moon goddess’ wishes, I am only trying to make sure that my destiny is fulfilled.
I did nothing wrong, I did nothing wrong, I tried to placate my conscience but the gnawing guilt persisted. The voices in my head increased, it continued to increase, almost taking complete control over my thoughts until I did what I do after every kill; dissociated. I focused on the present and forced my mind to forget the kill. I convinced myself that I had not done it, that it had not happened, that the memory was false.
I walked into Cassian's hospital ward and there he was hooked to a ventilator and heart monitor. His chest heaved and flattened, the steady lines on the heart monitor showed that he was indeed doing well.
I sat next to him. I stared at the heart monitor. I guess one more kill tonight wouldn't hurt anyone.
