Chapter 124
Jessica wasn't sure when the meeting had ended, yet by the time she came downstairs with Daphne, Zachary was the only one left in the living room, and he was dozing off on the couch. He rested one hand on the armrest, massaging his temple, while the other held his glasses.
Jessica walked up to him. He was out cold. His breathing was slow and steady, and he seemed unaware that she was standing right in front of him.
She crouched between his legs and looked up at him. At six foot three, he practically filled the entire single-seat couch.
She carefully took the glasses from his hand and set them on the stack of documents beside him. Then, she rose to her feet, grabbed the throw blanket from the other couch, and draped it over his knees.
That was all it took to stir him up. He didn't move a single muscle. He merely lifted his gaze to look at her.
