Chapter 900
To everyone's surprise, Cyrus, who had been watching coldly, simply shook his head.
"This cobra has eaten too many people and has developed a dependency. Now that Cobra Island is destroyed, if it swims to the mainland, who knows how many people will die?"
"You mean..." Kaia asked.
"Let them take each other down. Neither of them deserves any sympathy."
Both the king cobra and the Secret Realm's supreme leader were ruthless killers. In that sense, they were equally matched.
"But the cobra's losing!" Kaia protested.
She was still a young woman, nowhere near as practical as Cyrus. The cobra had saved them, after all, and she couldn't bear to see it being brutally beaten by Drakon.
Leah, who had trained alongside the king cobra for so long, advancing from the third to the fourth level in her vital energy cultivation, couldn't say she felt nothing for the creature.
But she was older and understood that Cyrus wasn't wrong. They couldn't risk thousands of human lives just because of a moment of pity.
A snake was still a snake; a beast was still a beast. It had eaten thousands of humans, so how could they expect it to change?
Even without Drakon, Cyrus would have likely ended the snake himself and taken its gallbladder. This way, letting Drakon take it down with him was probably the best outcome.
At least this way, the two women wouldn't think of Cyrus as cold-blooded.
This was one of the reasons Leah admired Cyrus' wisdom. He had the ability to balance human emotions with a firm commitment to righteousness. Maybe this young man in front of her was the real hope for leading Summerland toward a better path.
"I'll help it."
Kaia couldn't bear it anymore and fired ten silver needles at Drakon.
Drakon was stomping down hard on the king cobra when he was ambushed, and he was furious. He grabbed the ten silver needles with his badly burned right hand.
Though the needles pierced his hand, he felt no pain anymore. "You're asking for death!" he roared.
As soon as the words left his mouth, the ten needles flew right back toward Kaia.
Kaia, who held no significant position in her family and was still young, had only secretly practiced vital energy cultivation under Moses. She had barely made it past the first level.
She was more than capable of handling peers from noble families, but against someone like Drakon, who had reached the fifth level of vital energy cultivation, she stood no chance.
Just when she thought it was the end for her, Leah, quick as lightning, swept the ten silver needles aside with her blade.
"Thank you, Leah," Kaia said, breaking into a cold sweat.
Cyrus chuckled. "If you want to help the king cobra, you don't have to do it that way."
"So, how do we help?" Kaia and Leah asked in unison.
Leah had been itching for a fight as well.
Cyrus looked at Drakon and shouted, "Drakon, you're from the Olsen family, aren't you?"
Drakon's eyes widened in shock as he stared at Cyrus.
No one had ever uncovered his identity. He changed his appearance every week with disguise techniques. How had Cyrus figured it out so easily?
Cyrus continued, "The Olsen family is a clan of medical experts, skilled in creating bodies immune to all poisons. You're just like Seraphine. Based on your age and level, you must be from the second generation. You're Seraphine's great uncle, right?"
"Quillan Olsen," Kaia and Leah both called out at the same time.
Cyrus wasn't familiar with the full story, so Kaia quickly explained, "The second generation of the Olsen family is all still alive, but Quillan has been missing for over 30 years. They said he died in a plane crash. It has to be him."
Cyrus nodded and called out his name directly, "Quillan, I'll personally return your body to Summerland so that your father, Bernard, can come and claim it. The Olsen family pretends to heal people while secretly selling poison. They don't deserve to be Summerland's number one."
"Shut the hell up! I'm not Quillan Olsen!"
Drakon was completely distracted. He forgot to dodge or counter-attack, and in that instant, the king cobra coiled around his body.
"See? That was easy," Cyrus chuckled.
