Chapter 902
"I heard it with my own ears. They cheated and launched missiles directly at Cobra Island."
"That bastard, Cyrus!" Zoey sobbed. "I told him not to go…"
"Calm down, Zoey. We're in a perilous situation right now," Nicole said, comforting her.
"Okay, I'll pick Mira up now and inform Margot. You guys should head back right away, and we'll come up with a plan."
When Nicole descended to the first floor with her luggage, she ran into James, who was in his wheelchair.
"I heard Cyrus is dead?" he asked.
"Your dad is dead too. What are you so happy about?"
"Well, Cyrus' death brings me joy," James replied.
"Laugh all you want, then. I hope you end up in hell soon and reunite with your dad."
"Do you think you guys can escape? I'll lead the entire Sykes family back to Jorsproburgh and wipe out Innerzen Medical Center. Then, I'll teach all of Cyrus' women a lesson," James retorted.
Nicole sneered, "You should check if you're even lucky enough to do that."
Overhearing their conversation at the door, Hank also became upset and snapped, "You're as crazy as your dad. Do you want me to kill you right away?"
"Come at me if you dare. Do you think you can fucking get out of here if you kill me?" James taunted.
Knowing that Hank still had to protect Innerzen Medical Center and couldn't stir up trouble here, Nicole said, "Let's head back to Jorsproburgh now!"
But James followed them to the gate and shouted, "Go back and tell Zoey that she'd better behave and be my wife from now on and bear me children! My father was cuckolded, and as his son, I absolutely have to avenge him!"
…
Nicole texted Moses once she boarded the jet.
"Mr. Draig, Cyrus is gone. Does the deal you promised me still stand?"
After a long while, Moses finally replied, "I'll send people to take you guys to Southgress for refuge."
He was currently in a terrible mood. He received the news the moment Cobra Island sank.
His wife, Yvonne, had been bawling her eyes out—their beloved daughter had died in the explosion with Cyrus.
Just then, a maid showed up and said, "Mr. Draig Senior, Mr. Jethro is back."
Looking sullen, Moses stormed out of the room and glared at Jethro.
"Kneel!" he roared.
Jethro was puzzled. "Dad, I'm already 98 years old yet you still want me to get on my knees?"
"You're still my son even if you're 980 years old! You ingrate—how dare you deceive me! Kay died because of you. Do you think things will go your way?"
Yet, Jethro didn't comply but said, "Dad, it's no big deal. If I hadn't planned this carefully, the other four families would've soon targeted our family."
"Are you implying that I should thank you instead?" Moses fumed.
"Certainly. Not only should you thank me, but you should also pass over your position as the family patriarch to me before you duel with Owen."
"What duel?"
"Didn't you mention that you'd challenge Owen to a death duel if anything were to happen to Kay? I've already informed him on your behalf."
"Why, you!"
Realization dawned on Moses. Jethro wanted him to perish along with Owen so that he could naturally inherit his position as the family patriarch.
"Dad, you cherish Kay so much. You'd be up for the challenge, wouldn't you? I've already announced it on the official website of the Summerland Medical Association. There's no turning back now."
So furious that he nearly had a stroke, Moses bellowed, "Even if I partake in the duel, you don't stand a chance of inheriting my position!"
