“Let me out! I said let me out! Please…” My voice broke into sobs as I pounded weakly on the door, but no matter how long I cried or begged, no one came. No one ever did.
I dragged myself toward the corner of the cold room, as I curled up like a ball. I’d been locked in here for weeks—at least, I thought so. I’d lost all sense of time. The worst part was that my memories were slowly coming back, bit by bit, and each one hurt more than the last.
