Chapter 1823
After Olivia spoke, she leaned forward again.
"Ah—" Phoebe let out a choked scream.
In just seconds, she slid over the railing. But as she fell below it, both her hands managed to grip the railing tightly.
At that moment, the maids who had been watching from downstairs couldn't stay put any longer. They all rushed upstairs. The second they reached Olivia's side, they stretched out their arms, trying to hold onto Phoebe, who was dangling.
Mary cried out, "Ma'am, let her go!"
Her voice sounded urgent, but Olivia didn't react. Her hands were still pressing down on Phoebe, giving her no chance to climb back.
Mary's legs felt weak with fear. Her voice trembled as she said, "Ma'am, if she falls, you'll be in trouble! You still have Lucian! Why ruin yourself because of her? Ma'am!"
The maids all leaned over the railing, gripping Phoebe's arms as she struggled not to fall.
Olivia heard Mary's words but didn't move. Mary kept shouting, "Ma'am! Think carefully! Lucian can't lose you!"
