CHAPTER 10. Adrian waited for Damien in the backyard of the project building as the sun began to set, leaving orange traces reflecting off the glass of the tall buildings. The afternoon air felt heavy, filled with an unavoidable tension. When Damien finally appeared with quick steps, his face clearly showed that he did not want this meeting to happen. "Keep it short," Damien said coldly, staring at Adrian without hesitation. Adrian took a deep breath. "I want my family back." Damien laughed softly, not because it was funny, but because the statement sounded too simple for something so complicated. "Liora isn't something you can just claim back whenever you feel like it." "I know," Adrian admitted without defending himself. "I want to fix what I've destroyed. That's all." "Too late," Damien replied. "You have to accept that you're not the only man in her life now." Adrian didn't answer. He just nodded slightly, acknowledging that this competition was now inevitable. ---
