I swept my hair into a high bun, securing it with a few pins as I stared at my reflection. Everything had to be perfect. Not a single strand out of place.
Rumors were already circulating that Swan Lake would be performed for the newly elected governor—whoever that might be. And since my father decided to run, I was almost certain he would win. It made no sense to me why he was leaving his position as mayor. The chances of him getting re-elected were way higher than winning a governor’s seat. But then again, it wasn’t my problem.
What was my problem? Making sure I looked stunning for the performance. And more importantly—getting cast as Odette and Odile.
I knew it was going to be hard since it was a dual role, but let’s be honest—I could do anything. No one else in the studio had the technique, presence, or grace to pull it off like I could.
