Chapter 84 Lost

It had been a few days since my last phone call with Daniel.
And in those few days, I had heard nothing from him.
No texts.
No calls.
Not even a simple read receipt to let me know he saw my messages.
I wasn’t the type to get anxious over things like this—at least, I never used to be. But now? Now, I found myself checking my phone more often than I wanted to admit, each time hoping for some sort of response.
But there was nothing.
I had told myself that maybe he just needed time. Time to process everything. Time to figure out how he felt about all this—about me.
And so, I decided to give him that time.
I stopped reaching out, stopped texting and calling, even though every part of me wanted to.
But that didn’t mean I was giving up on him.
No.
I would try again when the timing felt right.
Whenever that would be.
At the moment, however, I had more immediate problems to deal with.
Like this excruciatingly frustrating phone call with a client.
