KNOX'S POV
The morning sun warmed my skin as I basked in the afterglow of last night. Aubrey's scent surrounded me—wildflowers and rain and something uniquely her, now mixed with my own. The mate bond hummed between us, new and delicate but undeniably real. For the first time since discovering the white wolf, since learning about the tears in reality, I felt truly at peace.
"She's ours," my wolf purred contentedly. "Finally ours."
The threats looming over our pack—the awakening ceremony, the prophecies, my father's warnings—all seemed distant and manageable now. Aubrey had agreed to be my Luna. After her initial rejection, after all the resistance and walls between us, she'd chosen to stay to be mine.
I watched her profile in the morning light, memorizing every detail: the curve of her cheek, the sweep of her lashes, the slight part of her lips. My mate. My Luna. The thought filled my chest with a sweetness I'd never known before.
