Dominic was about to brush it off when Lucien cut in, "Deal. We're each taking a one-in-two chance. I'm in."
Dominic didn't really care about winning or losing. He knew Leo's trick gave him an advantage, but he didn't mind. "Fine. It's just a month of washing socks."
The three of them chatted as they made their way into the woods. After a few more steps, someone stepped out from behind a large tree.
Dominic's face lit up. "Mr. Grant, we're here. Where's the body?"
Matthew pointed under a nearby tree. "Over there."
Dominic, Lucien, and Leo all looked in the direction Matthew indicated. They saw a blond woman lying on the ground, motionless.
Dominic and Lucien both glanced at Leo with odd expressions. Leo's face went gray. Of all the possibilities, it turned out to be a woman—the least likely scenario.
Upon seeing their perplexed looks, Matthew explained, "Don't be fooled by the fact she's a woman. She was ruthless when she swung her blade at me. I'm sure she's killed before."
