Moira's POV
I know Grandma didn't care whether Bella or any other woman was the one Jude wanted to spend his life with. All she wanted was for me to continue being Jude's companion. I didn't know if she knew about Jude and Bella's affair, but every day I felt like she was trying harder and harder to bring me and her grandson together.
It would be nice if I were still the Moira who was madly in love with Jude. The woman I am now is filled with wounds from betrayal. So, no matter how much I love Jude, if it’ wasn't his own desire to love me, I was no longer interested in trying.
I refused to waste my time on something impossible.
“It seems your father’s reasons aren’t too different from yours, dear,” Grandmother said, responding to Mirielle’s question for Jude, after only smiling faintly.
