The bikers froze mid-movement, their swagger evaporating in an instant. All four heads snapped toward the alley mouth.
Lucien stood there.
Tall. Still. Eyes burning a cold, lethal grey.
Beside him was another man—broad-shouldered, silent, expression carved from stone.
The leader swallowed audibly. “Wh-who the hell are you, man?”
Lucien stepped forward once. Just once. But it was enough. His wolf radiated off him in a thick, suffocating wave of dominance that made Narah press against my ribs nervously.
My heart tightened.
“Touch her again,” Lucien said, voice low and lethal, “and it’ll be the last thing you remember doing.”
His eyes had transformed into those of a wolf, and the oppressive aura he exuded with each step forward grew ever stronger.
The bikers felt panicked and reacted instantly—like cornered rats suddenly remembering they had legs. The leader flung my arm away as if my skin burned him. They bolted toward their bikes, scrambling over each other in their desperation.
