Chapter 33 She Is Hiding

She hid from me again. I can't, for the life of me, figure out why she keeps running like she had something to hide, something more than me just being related to Ryder.
Fuck that. I gritted my teeth, kicking up stones as I walked past the street with more force than intended. It was more than that.
My wolf growled, wanting nothing more than to go back into the damn building and force her to acknowledge what was between us.
"Not now," I mused under my breath. "Not now, but eventually."
"Lucian?" a voice spoke. Diego was waiting, leaning against the car. "We have somewhere to be."
I took a long glance at the restaurant and then followed my better instincts, opening the car door and stepping in. Diego looked at me but said nothing, wisely keeping his deductions to himself. He sat beside me in the passenger seat.
"All good?" he asked.
"Who are we meeting with today?" I asked, giving a gruff nod.
"Joseph Mallory," he responded, reaching for the tablet on the car dashboard.
