I searched her face, scanning every inch for deceit, but all I found was raw emotion; anger, confusion, and something else she tried desperately to hide.
She meant it.
Luisa truly believed there was a chance I had something to do with her parents’ deaths.
That realization settled into my chest like a slow-burning poison, tightening around my ribs.
