Liliana felt a wave of warmth rush through her—so Wilson had been the one quietly helping her from behind the scenes.
She looked at him, her eyes sparkling with gratitude, her heart softening like someone had just turned up the thermostat.
Wilson didn't turn his head, but he definitely caught her admiring gaze through the corner of his eye. He kept his eyes on the tablet in his hand, yet the corners of his lips lifted ever so slightly without him realizing it.
"She's actually this happy?"
Liliana blinked with a shy smile and said, "Seriously though, I owe you big time today. You totally saved me."
Wilson finally looked away from the screen, turning to meet her eyes.
"So... you're gonna start coming home for dinner on time now?" He still hadn't dropped that matter.
Without thinking much of it, Liliana nodded quickly.
"Yup. I'll head home right after work from now on."
That one sentence seemed to hit the right note. Wilson's thin lips curved up just a little more.
