#Chapter 99: Kisses At Sunset
Ollie’s POV
As heat rushes to my face, I’m about to turn away when he glances back. His eyes lock with mine and I freeze, caught. How long did he know I was here? I suspect from the start. Hugh likes to play these kinds of games.
As he holds my gaze, he starts to smirk, and that’s when I know for sure.
I’m caught in his trap.
Turning toward me, I can see his full bare torso. The water laps at his waist, but I know what’s waiting for me just under the waves.
He lifts his hand and beckons me closer, and suddenly I can understand the stories of sailors who were coaxed from their boats by sirens in the water. I think I would so easily follow him, even down to the depths.
So it’s nothing really for me to step forward on the shore, until the water is licking at my ankles.
“Wait,” he calls. I’m so attuned to his voice, I can hear it distinctly even with the crashing waves. “Take off your clothes first. You wouldn’t want to get them wet.”
