Ella’s POV
“How long was I out?” I croaked. My voice was cracked and hoarse, like I hadn’t had water in days. When I tried to move, Alexander gently pushed me back down to the bed by my shoulder, although he didn’t need to. I felt too weak to sit up anyway, and the pain in my chest was like someone had branded my flesh with a hot iron.
Alexander’s grip on my hand tightened. “Four days. You’ve been unconscious for four days.”
“Four days?!” I blurted out, to which Alexander and the others nodded. It had only felt like minutes in the spirit realm—it felt like a distant dream now, but I faintly recalled a brief confrontation with Margaret, a push, and then waking up here.
But in the real world, four entire days had passed. I couldn’t believe it.
