The sales assistants were whispering, but Sophia, always sharp-eared, caught a few words.
A smug smirk tugged at her lips as she casually ran her fingers through her hair, showing off the massive diamond on her hand.
She shot Elizabeth a mocking glance. "Elizabeth, since I am your stepmother in name at least, if you can't afford anything here, I wouldn't mind gifting you a couple pieces."
"No need, thanks," Elizabeth replied with a calm smile. "You should focus on buying whatever you want, Aunt Sophia."
Elizabeth looked unaffected as ever.
While Sophia was busy showing off, Elizabeth had already done a quiet little check on her phone—Sophia's bank balance, along with the card Lucas had given her, was now crystal clear.
