Chapter 57
I rubbed my forehead where I'd bumped it and muttered a quick "Sorry" in Valantric without thinking.
Then a man's warm voice said, "Are you from Valenthea too?"
I looked up. The man in front of me was dressed in a full set of martial arts wear, but it didn’t make him look old-fashioned at all. He was tall and lean, with striking features and eyes as dark as ink, lit with an easy smile.
I nodded. "You're Valantian too?"
He smiled and nodded back. "Are you okay? Do you want to get that checked out at a clinic?"
I waved it off and told him I was fine.
He thought for a second before offering, "Then, how about I buy you a coffee? Or other drinks, if you prefer that?"
"She doesn't like coffee. Nor does she like other drinks too."
Felix's voice rang out suddenly. He strode over in a few quick steps and pulled me into his arms.
The guy glanced curiously at Felix's hand resting on my waist and asked, "Who might you be?"
I cleared my throat, about to explain, but Felix beat me to it.
