Chapter 892
Avery did not think much about it. After parking, he started unloading the trunk and entered the house.
Claire had texted Natalie. She suddenly furrowed her brows. "What is going on? Why hasn't she replied to me yet?"
"Perhaps she's not up yet," Avery said.
"Impossible. We said to meet around ten." Even so, Claire still did not trust Natalie. She immediately said, "No. I'll have to call her."
"I'm sorry, the number you have dialed is not in service. Please try again later…"
Claire looked at her phone and furrowed her brows. "Why is no one answering?"
"Who isn't answering?" Clark returned from his run all sweaty.
Avery was embarrassed to tell him that they were asking whether he was having male menopause, so he said, "Claire is calling Natalie to see if they were arriving yet or not."
Clark looked at the time. "It's late. Logically speaking, they should be on their way."
Avery said, "Call Judy and see."
Claire nodded and called Judy's phone. The call rang for a long time before it was picked up.
"Hello?"
The moment the call connected Claire frowned. "Judy, what's going on?"
It was extremely noisy over at Judy's end. Claire could barely hear Judy's voice.
"What?" Claire sprang up from the couch. "Judy…"
Clark and Avery immediately put down the things in their hands. They asked in unison, "What happened?"
Claire said, "I think something has happened over at Judy's side."
Clark's gaze darkened.
At that moment, on the road from Jones mansion to the summer resort, Judy's red sedan was surrounded by four or five black cars on all sides.
Judy had to slam the brakes, forced to stop in the middle of the road. Even with the help of the seatbelt, Judy still slammed her forehead against the windshield. Her ears were buzzing.
Natalie also almost slammed her head against the windshield. They could barely care about themselves and immediately turned around to check on the children. "Mabel, Caleb, are you alright?"
Mabel and Caleb were in their safety seats. Although they were fine, they were frightened.
"Mommy, what's going on?"
"It's alright," Judy assured them.
Natalie looked ahead to see a wealthy-looking lady in a purple fur coat coming out of her car with the help of her servants.
Judy was a little alarmed. She had seen this old lady only once, and they both did not have good impressions of each other.
"That old hag! I'll kill her!" Natalie fumed. She opened the door and got out of the car.
"Natalie, don't be reckless!" Judy tried to pull her back, but she was too late. Natalie had already gotten out of the car fuming and heading toward the old lady.
