“There was no other way. I need to heal her,” I snapped.
“Are you going to perform a healing ritual on a human? Isn’t that dangerous?” asked the healers, stuttering and gaping at my decision.
“Please reconsider. A healing ritual on a human could be fatal. Your energy might be too overwhelming for her to handle. What if she dies?” remarked one of the other staff.
“She could also turn into a half-lycan, and your soul might erode,” Harlow added with a soft crease on his forehead.
“Will you help me?” I whispered to him. I turned to Harlow and looked into his eyes with a pleading gaze. Mythril took a sharp breath.
Harlow stared at me. Each passing second felt like Jo’s life was slipping away faster. I could feel the girl’s life energy growing weaker in my grasp.
“If we do it together, I believe the risks will be significantly reduced. You could act as a conduit to channel the excess energy circled back to me,” I explained in one breath. “Please,” I pleaded to him.
