“Hand over Fenny Fitzgerald, and I promise not to kill you,” Leo said in a low, firm voice.
The white-robed cultivator felt a surge of relief, though he maintained a cautious front. “Let me go first, and for six months, you must not track or pursue me by any means, including special methods.”
“Friend, you should push further,” Frances Barry interjected telepathically. “Make him surrender fully and compromise with us.”

“Fine. I agree to your terms,” Leo replied in a steady tone.
“Swear an oath to the heavens!” the cultivator demanded.
