Chapter 30 Not Worth the Price
The Jillards and Julian stood frozen, stunned, as if someone had cast a spell on them. The carved doors slowly closing behind Madeline felt like a silent slap, landing squarely across their faces.
"How did she get in there?" Margaret, being the first to recover, exclaimed sharply.
Quinn's fake smile crumbled entirely, jealousy biting at her like a venomous snake.
Jonathan's mind was a storm. He stared hard at the sealed doors, and the suspicion he had about Madeline and Colton grew clearer by the second.
He was almost certain that whoever had reserved the entire VIP floor had to be connected to Madeline. That realization hit him like a thunderbolt, stirring an unnameable pang of regret in his chest.
People bustled past them, and Julian tugged irritably at his tie. "Come on. Let's stop standing here."
Since the VIP rooms were unavailable, they would have to settle for a regular private room. In the end, the group left with their faces flushed and spirits deflated.
