Inside Langford Group, two men sat facing each other. One was the undefeated legal titan; the other, a prodigy at the pinnacle of modern medicine.
Even on someone else's turf, Zachary carried himself as though everything was under his control.
"Mr. Langford, I'm here today to ask you for a favor. My wife, Lynette Sterling, has gone missing in Kingsbridge. I'd like your help finding her."
Philip leaned back against the couch, his posture lazy, his tone indifferent. "Mr. Wright, missing persons are usually handled through the embassy. Don't you think you're barking up the wrong tree by coming to me instead?"
It wasn't that Zachary didn't want to contact the embassy. Legally speaking, he no longer could. He and Lynette were divorced. He had no standing, no formal relationship that would justify diplomatic involvement. That was why he was here.
