At this point, Natalie had no patience left for playing nice. Her eyes locked onto Victoria's with a sharp, threatening glare.
"With the way Theodore was, there's no chance he'd stash something that important just anywhere. He definitely had it with him."
"And the only one who had access to his body—was you."
Victoria gave a chilly smirk. Finally, Natalie dropped the act. That suited her just fine—she wasn't in the mood to waste more words on her.
"Natalie, I've been more than tolerant. Let me make it simple. I just want what's mine. Hand over the chip, and we'll pretend none of this happened. But if you force my hand, don't blame me for what happens next."
Sure, this wasn't Natalie's turf, and she'd originally wanted to avoid making a scene. But if push came to shove, she wasn't backing down.
Victoria, however, stood her ground.
"Then let me be clear, too: I have no clue where that chip is."
