Chapter 144 A moment to think
Max POV
I watched as Maya took our son to bed and slammed the door behind her. She was angry, hurt and confused. I wanted to go in there and discuss it with her, but at the same time, I knew she needed some time to calm down. It hadn't been an easy time for her; Kieran had taken full advantage of her.
"Max, we have to give Maya some space. I know it's hard, but we have to. At least she is back here with us and safe. That's the main thing." Leo told me, leaning over to squeeze my shoulder. I nodded and bit my lower lip.
"I need to get some air," I muttered as I walked out of the room, leaving my brother alone with Rafe.
"Don't do anything stupid, Maxwell Sterling." He shouted after me.
I walked through the maze of well-lit corridors, the pack was always so squeaky clean and well looked after. I pushed open the door and let the cool night air hit me. I took a deep breath, urging my inner wolf to calm.
