"Everything’s fine, but Beckett, now that you’re here, where’s Lottie? Who’s with her?" Prescott Ellington asked, his brow knitting slightly.
"Sir, no worries. My mom’s watching her, and Theron’s there too," Beckett Fraser replied.
It was the mention of Theron that made Prescott worry more.
Prescott turned around, intending to leave the study to check on Lottie, but just then, his phone buzzed in his pocket. He stopped, pulling it out, and saw Paul Hartwell’s name on the screen.
Answering immediately, Prescott barely had time to say anything before Paul’s urgent voice came through: "Ellington, things are bad—really bad. The Meridian military’s teamed up with the operation at the mines. The three bombers I brought in for backup are damaged and out of play. Meanwhile, the enemy’s throwing endless waves of fighters at us. If this keeps up, Camila won't make it. You’ve got to send reinforcements. I can’t hold the line much longer!"
