Finally, Aaron opened the door.
“Did you fall asleep?” Mom asked.
“No,” he mumbled, offering her a warm smile.
He glanced quickly toward the bathroom.
Mom stepped inside. “Do you need anything?”
“No, sis. I just wanted to thank you,” she said, smiling softly. “You’ve helped Ivy so much. I don’t know how she’ll do tomorrow, but what matters most is that she’s changed.”
Aaron returned her smile. “Don’t worry, sis. She’s giving it her all.”
“I know,” she said, her eyes warm. “Anyway, I’ll leave you now. Sorry for dropping in so late.”
“It’s no problem,” Aaron said, gently closing the door behind her.
As soon as she left, he rushed into the bathroom.
I couldn’t help but grin when he looked at me. “I thought she caught us,” he whispered.
“Relax, my love,” I said, wrapping my arms around him. “No one’s going to catch us.”
“Oh really?” he said, smirking as his hands slid down to my waist.
I clung to him, locking my legs around him. “Aaron, how much longer are you going to torture me like this
