Chapter 34
As I looked down at Aaron, I saw that familiar mischievous smile tugging at his lips. He gently brushed his mouth over my skin, teasing me with slow kisses. I gave him a pleading look... not now, not while I was still on the phone with Mom.
He trailed slow kisses along my body, sending shivers down my spine. I bit my lip, trying to hold it together.
Mom’s voice came through the phone, crisp and sharp. “Hey, girl.”
I jolted slightly, nodding quickly. “Just talking, Mom,” I said, trying to sound casual, though my voice wavered.
Aaron knelt down, his hands caressing my thighs as he lifted one gently. My breath caught in my throat. “Aaah,” I whispered without meaning to.
“Ivy?” Mom said, concern lining her voice.
“I... I'm taking a bath,” I replied, cheeks burning.
“Then why do you look like you’re running a marathon? Your face is red,” she asked, suspicious.
I forced a smile. “You know me, Mom. Steam, heat — it gets to me,” I said with a laugh that didn’t quite reach my eyes.
She sighed.
