Chapter 44: Becoming a Disciple
David Miller stared at the painting for a full five minutes. Except for Henry Carson, everyone's attention was fixed on it.
"What a masterpiece!" David exclaimed, clearly moved. "Such mastery in brushwork, and it even bears Quincy Donovan's seal. This is undoubtedly an authentic work!"
The room buzzed with whispers.
"Is it real?"
"How did that young man figure it out?"
"You can't judge a book by its cover, you know."
The excitement was palpable.
Without warning, David Miller knelt before Henry Carson. "I've always prided myself on my discerning eye, but today, I've met my match," he declared earnestly. "From this day on, Mr. Carson, I consider you my master."
