By the time Calliope opened her eyes again, the sun was already up and her fever had finally broken.
She still felt groggy though, like her brain was stuffed with a wet cotton ball-heavy, fuzzy, and slow.
What she didn't know was that someone had stayed up all night cooling her down with warm towels, barely shutting his eyes once.
As she stepped out of the bedroom, her eyes landed on a tall figure in the kitchen.

Calliope leaned her cheek on her palm, sitting at the table, and quietly watched him for a while.
A bowl of chicken soup was soon placed in front of her, just the right temperature.
She curled her eyes into a smile, dimples faint. "You actually look kinda good in that apron."
Wiping his hands, Conrad bent close, his breath warm against her skin. "Oh? Like it? How about I wear it tonight?"
