Once the call ended, Lucien spun around fast.
The hospital room in front of him was shut tight.
Just as he raised his hand to knock, a chilly voice rang out behind him.
"Mr. Sterling, Angelina should've calmed down by now. You should go in and see her."
Lucien turned slowly. The bloodshot in his eyes made them look downright terrifying, the storm brewing in them enough to make even someone like Rosemary flinch.
Arms crossed as she leaned against the wall, Rosemary tried to stay calm. "She's feeling really insecure lately. She needs you."
Lucien's lips curled into a bitter, mocking smile. "Angelina ended up like this all thanks to you - her lovely mother."
That hit a nerve. Rosemary's heart sank. One sentence, and she knew he'd found out everything.
Her face darkened. "Fine, I did underestimate Ethan. But if Calliope hadn't interfered, Angelina wouldn't be the one lying in that bed right now."
