Chapter 49: The Infiltration
The night was pitch black as Ava, Lucas, Lydia, and Callum approached the perimeter of the rumored safe house. The building loomed ahead, a stark concrete structure partially hidden by tall fences and dense trees. It was well-guarded, with armed men patrolling the grounds and security cameras monitoring every angle.
Ava crouched low behind a bush, studying the patterns of the guards. “There’s a rotation,” she whispered to Lucas. “Two on the north side, one on the south. We have a small window of about three minutes when they switch shifts.”
Lucas nodded, adjusting his night-vision goggles. “We go in fast, avoid any direct contact. We don’t want to raise an alarm.”
Lydia, who had been watching with sharp eyes, added, “There’s a blind spot near the back entrance. We can cut through there. But we need to disable the cameras first.”
Callum’s voice trembled slightly, but he nodded. “I’ve got a jammer. It’ll give us about a five-minute window to get in and out before the system resets.”
