Lydia's voice was soft, but Adrian heard her clearly.
He knew Ivanna and Wilson had nearly gotten engaged years ago. Still, he instinctively scoffed. "Impossible." After all, no one knew Ivanna better than he did.
"Ivanna and I grew up together. We're about to get married too. There's no way she has anything to do with Wilson," he spoke quickly and firmly, as if he were trying to convince himself more than anyone else.
He had never imagined marrying anyone but Ivanna. Not to mention, the wedding was just days away.
However, the thought of being tied down for life had indeed pushed him to chase a fleeting thrill.
Regardless, he felt that even if Ivanna was angry, he believed that once he apologized sincerely, she would forgive him. She always did.
Adrian clung to that belief. Yet tonight, for the first time, a ripple of unease stirred in his chest.
"But where did Ivanna go?" someone in the crowd suddenly asked.
