Emelie cleared her throat and spoke. Her voice was hoarse and faint. "If you want this table, you can have it, Mr. Middleton."
William frowned. "What's wrong with your voice?"
Emelie continued to struggle, but William commanded, "Sit down and eat, then I'll take you to the hospital."
"No need, Mr. Middleton." She insisted on leaving. Yet William wouldn't tolerate disobedience.
In the tussle, the yogurt bowl on her tray tipped over, splashing onto Emelie's hand. In a flash of anger, she slammed the tray onto the table, drawing the attention of everyone in the restaurant.
William's expression darkened instantly. "Who gave you the right to throw dishes around?"
He would walk away coldly even when Henry slammed the table in front of him, let alone someone else.
Emelie was audacious beyond belief.
